What document types does Valora support?
Valora supports a wide variety of document types that are common to most
organizations: email messages, facsimiles, letters, contracts, press
releases, meeting minutes, financial statements, SEC and tax filings,
spreadsheets, reports, etc. Valora also supports documents unique to
legal proceedings, such as pleadings, court filings and patent
applications. In addition, Valora configures the system to handle any
additional case-specific document types that make up more than 5% of the
document collection.
Intermediate
What happens if my case contains a document type Valora has never seen before? Can you still encode the document?
Yes, we encode 100% of the documents in a population. In the case where
we have an unidentifiable document type, but the document has clear
representations of author, recipient, etc., then the bibliographic
information will be extracted, but assigned a "Miscellaneous" document
type. If you specify a name for this type of document, we will code it
per your specification. In other cases, Valora will create custom
document templates for your job.
If you unitize my document population, won't I lose my original presentation of the documents?
No, you won't. There are two ways to unitize and Valora supports both
methods. In one method, we truly unitize across all existing boundaries
and make the proper, logical document breaks (potentially crossing the
original document boundaries). In the other method, we unitize only
within existing document breaks, and protecting the original document
division. There are drawbacks and benefits to both methods and we
recommend you discuss your particular needs with your Account Manager or
Project Manager.
Advanced
Can you support coding in multiple languages?
Yes, Valora supports document encoding in 14 foreign languages: American
English, British English, Catalan, Dutch, Finnish, French, German,
Greek, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Russian (Cyrillic), Spanish, and
Swedish. We do not support double-byte character languages at this
time. (Japanese, Korean, Arabic, etc.)
Can I obtain this system (product) for my firm?
Not at the current time.
